How to change visa from D2 to D10

 In this post, I want to help you guys, who have graduated or will graduate in Korea, can stay here for work. If you have graduated but you have not gone to work yet, you can change from D2 to D10 (A visa of Seeking job in Korea). You should to apply for visa one or two weeks before your alien registration card is expired.

 You need to prepare the following documents when you change from D2 to D10

- Application form (별지 34 호 신청서)

- Passport x photocopy

- Alien Registration Card x photocopy

- A medical certificate (결핵 진단서)

- Certificate of residency (거주 / 속소 제공 확인서)

- House lease contract (집임대 계약서)

- The lessor’ ID photocopy (거주 / 속소 제공자 신분증 사본)

- Certification of Graduation or Certification of the expectant graduation (졸업 증명서 or 졸업 예정증명서)

- A transcript (성적 증명서)

- Topik (if any)

- A plan for seeking job in 6-month (this is the most important) (구직 활동 계획서)

- Financial ability (you can print out from your bank account)

* Note

- You should go to the immigration office within 14 days to fix your address when you move to another place. The address in your ID and Certificate of residency must be the same.

- For a job-seeking plan, you should write down the details as much as possible.

- Certification of graduation(졸업 증명서)for who have graduated and Certification of the expectant graduation for who haven’t graduation yet (졸업 예정 증명서).

- About financial ability part, when they ask how you can pay for your fee in 6 months in Korea, don’t say you’re going to find part-time to pay for it. Because of D10 visa doesn’t allow students to get a part time.

 When you get a job, you must change to E7 visa to work in Korea. I will show you how to apply to E7 visa in the next port. I hope you can understand what I say because my English skill is not really goodㅠㅠ. Good luck ^. ^

 You should go to the website  http://www.hikorea.go.kr to reserve visit. Because the immigration office is always crowded. (Maybe you have to wait for 2 weeks to apply)
